I purchased some Leinenkugel’s Berry Weiss on a lark this evening. It’s shit. Stay away from it. It’s way too sweet like a wine cooler. Drinking even just one of these is like a punch in the face. I can’t figure out what kind of berries exactly.

I think I like the Berry Weiss. It is sweet. But, its sweetness is balanced with a creamy texture and a sour finish that combine for a unique and lovely beer experience. I wouldn’t want to drink several of these at once. But, a Leinie Berry Weiss is the perfect dessert course for a traditional Wisconsin dinner of bratwurst or sausage and potatoes. (Essentially, Leinenkugel is to Wisconsin what Abita is to Louisiana. Check out their website here: http://www.leinie.com/home.htm)
I’ll bring some to the BBBC meeting tonight. It looks like we’ll have a quorum present so we should be able to reach a final verdict on the issue of Berry Weiss’s suckiness.
Oh, and the berries are blackberry, elderberry, and localberry.
XOXO
I’ve got some in my fridge if you want it
