An homage to Hunter S. Thompson and Flying Dog Ales

I’ve just enjoyed so going to Denver so much lately the past few months. Meeting the some of the Flying Dog and Blake St. Tavern folks was indeed a treat. I figured what better way to further give tribute to Flying Dog and Hunter S. Thompson than to go as HST for Halloween in New Orleans.

taken today w/ my BlackBerry after my HST props came in the mail. thank you Ebay!

Hal&Mal’s St. Paddy’s Day Parade 2008

The BBBC is very excited about the St. Paddy’s Day Parade this year. We hope you are, too. If you are planning on coming to the parade, stop by and see us. The parade starts at 12 noon on March 15, 2008. We’ll be getting there around 10:30 AM.

We’ll be camped out on the just south of the southeast corner of West Street and Pascagoula Street. We’ll be near the fence behind the Clarion-Ledger offices.

Sing Loud, Sing Proud!

The BBBC is spearheading a new initiative designed to pressure the Dropkick Murphys into coming to Jackson to rock our St. Paddy’s Day celebration. Lar has set up a website where you can add your voice to our cause. The “Demand it!” link below will take you there. Go now.

Demand it!

For those of you who aren’t aware, the Dropkick Murphys are the toughest bunch of beer drinking, rabble rousing, punk rockin’, bourbon swilling bastards ever to come out of Boston. Jackson hosts the third largest St. Paddy’s Day celebration in the country. Yeah, that’s right. For once we’re number three in something good. Obviously it’s a match made in heaven.

So, let’s invite the Murphy’s down for some southern hospitality, BBBC style.
