Black Dog Ale

This is a good beer. It makes you drunk. Why do they even make light beer?

Black Dog Ale won several medals in the 1990’s at the Great International Beer Tasting. It’s recognizable by its light copper color and fruity aroma. It is an English style amber ale with extraordinary drinkability, notable hoppiness and clean malt flavors.

“Yes, Chug, the black lab on the label, is a real dog. He was the founder’s pet and he fully participated in the success of Black Dog Ale. Chug’s full name was Chugwater Charlie Hill and he was the descendant of a four time national champion. He accompanied the founder on sales calls and attended special events and generally managed to sell as much or more beer as the founder himself. Chug was a working dog and earned several master titles. Unfortunately, Chug died in 2005 at the age of fourteen. Happily, he was a very successful stud dog and his descendants are thriving and one of his granddaughters (Chug’s Taylor Made “Taylor”) belongs to our brewer.”.

You can usually tell what I write and don’t write. So I see no need to lend credit.

“Furthermore, a portion of the proceeds from all Black Dog Ales will go to local humane societies nationwide as part of the “Help Chug Help His Friends” program, and that makes the beer taste even beer to me. I suggest giving the Black Dog English Style Amber Ale a try as I would give this a 4 on the unofficial Hop-Talk rating scale.”

See, getting drunk saves dogs.

That is Sammy. She was my dog.
