My dream concert.

I think that Jack Johnson, Xavier Rudd, Matt Costa, Matisyahu, Ben Harper, Donavon Frankenreiter and The Dropkick Murphys (DKM) would be a dream lineup. I had to throw one change of pace in the mix. But honestly, isn’t that a great lineup? All we need is SNPA and TBDA to sponsor along with some of the best British Columbia has to offer. It would be a very positive and happy energy. Which would cause a great drunkenness and party that would live for all times. That burp tasted like vomit. As a result of this show DKM would play Jackson on ST PADDIES!! Hells yea!! This is really more just drunken babble. Later fuckers.

MQ Revisited beer tasting

Sal & Mookie’s hosted a MQ Revisited beer tasting event last night. Scott and Chris Crothers did a great presentation. Many thanks again to Jeff Good for having great events like this.

Some groups in attendance were, the BBBC, Capital City Beverage (local distributors), Mississippians for Economic and Beverage Advancement (MEBA).

It was a great afternoon. I learned a few new things about the beer making process; not only general beer making, but the process and ingredients involved in different types of beers (white, porters, ales, pilsners, etc). The seven beers for tasting last night were:

I feel very fortunate to have open-minded individuals like MEBA, CCB, Jeff Good, and The Crothers Brothers helping to bring more beer variety into Mississippi.

The Red Dawn

On the night of January 25th 2008, the great minds of Brad Tarver and Matt Wann sat down for a night of good libations and drunken babble. What was to come of this night, no one could have imagined. And thus The Sierra Dog was born.

That burp tasted like vomit.

I know what you’re thinking. What is a Sierra Dog? Well guess what fuckers? I’ll tell you. A Sierra Dog is a combo of two beers. A mixture of 1/2 SNPA (Sierra Nevada Pale Ale) and 1/2 Abita Turbo Dog. (T.B.D.A) Both great beers alone, but as one? I am thinking the Great Wall of China of beers. This is a day that will live along side other great days of invention. The Wheel, the refrigerated rail car, assembly line and mass production, central air and heat, indoor plumbing, tampons (for the ladies), fire, original alcohol, bourbon, a pipe, birth control. Feel free to comment about other great inventions.

Interruption in internet service

The BBBC website experienced an interruption in internet service yesterday from approximately 1:45 PM CST to approximately 8:00 PM CST. We lost upstream connectivity because there was a large fiber distribution cut in an area outside of Jackson.

Leinenkugel’s Berry Weiss

I purchased some Leinenkugel’s Berry Weiss on a lark this evening. It’s shit. Stay away from it. It’s way too sweet like a wine cooler. Drinking even just one of these is like a punch in the face. I can’t figure out what kind of berries exactly.

Soulshine Pizza Factory in Brandon, Mississippi Employs People who Suck

My wife and I experienced some terrible customer service at the Soulshine Pizza Factory in Brandon, Mississippi. We went in on Saturday looking for some tasty pizza, and we’d never been there. The word on the street is that it’s supposed to be good. While waiting (a really long time) I picked up a paper copy of the menu to read as I couldn’t see the tiny chalk menu on the wall behind the counter (important note: I’m legally blind). Well, when the pizza guy finally comes up the first thing he says is, “Hey, are you blind or something?” followed by an aping of how close I had to hold the menu to read. “Yes,” I answered, “actually I am.” A reasonable person would have realized their mistake at this point. Not our pizza guy. “Boy, I sure hope you don’t drive! Let me know when you’re leaving so I can make sure it’s safe!”

The Futurama of Beer

The Beer Brewing Bender Project is finally completed. This is a fan built, full sized Bender from Futurama featuring a 6502 CPU powered brain to make him speak triggered by a prop remote control straight out of the show. Inside his body is a beer fermenter used to brew up a batch of real Benderbrau beer! < link via slashdot>

Jefferson’s very small batch bourbon

Had a few glasses of Jefferson’s very small batch bourbon New Years Eve. Great bourbon! Light vanilla flavor, smooth, and a very clean finish. Five Stars!
